Pre-Proposal - Leaderboard! Twitter Competition

This is a pre-proposal presentation of a proposal idea----

Leaderboard! will be a community-wide contest, open to all.

A Leaderboard! sub-channel will be established on Discord.

To register, any participant will define their Twitter handle and their Discord handle in a post on the sub-channel. Now they are in the competition.

The competition proceeds by weekly vote. Every and any DVT Discord user can vote.

Each week, any DVT Discord user casts their vote by posting their Top 5, in order, 1 being “No. 1 / the best / their favorite” tweets about DVT in that week.

A short post will be pinned in the channel offering guidance on various ways to evaluate “best DVT tweets,” encouraging factors such as engagement, originality, graphics, notice by crypto-influencers, humor, et cetera.

All Top 5 List votes in the channel for the week will be tallied on Sunday. Voting will close Sunday at noon. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the contest for the week will be announced on Discord Sunday evening. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winners win by highest point totals. Every “1” position in a Top 5 vote counts as 5 points, on down to the “5” position counting as 1 point.

A leaderboard showing total 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes, from the onset of the competition, will be kept, also tracking total points earned by each contestant making the leaderboard (Yes, this is an homage to READY PLAYER ONE).

The Marketing DAO will host this weekly competition. The Marketing DAO will appoint an administrator/commissioner for the contest, who will tally votes, announce winners, referee, settle controversies with firm but fair decisiveness, and maintain the growing leaderboard. This appointed administrator will be paid a weekly stipend of $DVT for this work, out of the project’s weekly budget.

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place each week are envisioned as 50,000 $DVT for 1st, 20,000 for 2nd, and 10,000 for third. The administrator’s weekly stipend will be 10,000, and an additional weekly provision of 10,000 will go to the Marketing DAO as host, for general promotion of the contest, within and without the $DVT community.

These add to a weekly project budget of 100,000 $DVT.

Some safeguard rules for the proposal.

Unused award funds. The goal of the proposal is to catalyze, through fun and friendly competition, much higher rates of $DVT-centered tweets on Twitter that are quality SM content. If in any week that is funded in the project, “nothing happens” and there are not enough tweets or votes on tweets to establish a set of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, the award funds for that week will be returned to the Community Fund by the DAO. If there are enough to have a 1st, or a 1st and 2nd only, at the discretion of the administrator a partial set of awards may be made.

Sunset requiring renewal. The budget for this proposal is limited to 10 weeks of competition. The 100,000 $DVT per week project budget will therefore sunset and end after 10 weeks, if not renewed by an accepted, approved, proposal that renews the project.

The proposer, Rui, will donate 100,000 DVT to the Marketing DAO if this proposal is approved, to cover the first week of the competition while the project funds are being transferred from the Community Fund to the DAO.

Awesome Initiative.
You got my support!

Is this just with twitter or will other social media like Facebook be included?

@Nohbdy45645 at this time the proposal is for Twitter only, on the assumption that voting requires everyone seeing the same body of posts, which visibility cashtag searches on Twitter facilitate pretty well (everyone search $DVT/Latest on Twitter), but which would be tougher to pull off across “all” social media.

What about splitting it up then? 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for each social media site with the awards being split evenly amongst the sites. If both twitter and facebook have enough activity to have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd then twitter gets 50k and facebook gets 50k with the 1st being paid 25k 2nd 10k and 3rd 5k on each platform.

Follow the same idea for unused funds as in the proposal. If facebook doesn’t have any activity then at the discretion of the administrator/commissioner all of that week’s funds go to the twitter prizes.
