INSTALL VIA DOWNLOADED PACKAGE USE THE FOLLOWING:
Click the “Get Wallet” Button in top right hand corner. This will bring you to the download page.
On the download page click 64 bit or 32 bit and the package should start downloading.
Find the tar.gz package you just downloaded. Double click and the package should open. You will see the DeVault directory inside. Double click until you see “bin” - Drag and drop the bin directory into your home folder or somewhere you can access it.
Locate the bin directory you just extracted from the tar.gz package. Open it and inside you will see the following files, devault-cli, devauld, devault-qt, and devault-tx, the file we will be opening is devault-qt. To do that you must first navigate to this directory in your terminal. Right click the white space and click “open in terminal”.
Now you will run the following command in your terminal:
sudo cp devault-qt* /usr/local/bin/
Then you will open the wallet, to do this simply type into your terminal,
Set Wallet Password. The wallet will open and you will see a prompt to set wallet password. You need to use ten or more random character, or eight or more words. Enter your password twice, write it down on a piece of paper, make sure you keep this password password safe and do not lose it! You will need it to send and receive DVT.
Seed Phrase. After you create a password you will be given a seed phrase. Anybody with access to this seed will have access to your funds. Do not share it with anybody. The seed is more powerful than the password you set. If you lose the password, forget the password, lose the hard drive, you will be fine as long as you have the seed. Write this down in multiple places and put it in safe places. These are the keys to your DeVault wallet!
You have completed the DeVault installation process on Linux operating systems. You should confirm your password is correct, you can do that on the console in the debug window. Click - “help” > “debug window” - The debug window should open, click the “console” tab. Type in
walletpassphrase “yourpasswordhere” 999 – where 999 is the # of seconds the wallet will stay unlocked.
That is it! You now have the DeVault-QT wallet running on your Linux Operating System.
