DeVaultDAO Restructuring

In light of recent adjustments in the day-to-day team there has been a few proposals pushed that aim to appoint new coordinators to these DAOs and I feel like while they have their hearts in the right place, it’s going to lead to further discontent and confusion amongst the folks doing all the work currently. Not to mention we could use a consolidation of funds and goals in order to refocus our efforts and start gaining ground in terms of actual business relationships, marketing campaigns & content as well as the day to day task management that is required to run a team of people.

Currently the issue is a mixture of whom is well positioned to not only lead a DAO, but also the goals of these individual DAOs, I propose instead of simply replacing the coordinators of those DAOs, we instead move the tech support aspect to the Web Dev DAO, and then the community, marketing & business development folks into a more General DAO. This will create a more focused environment instead of having understaffed teams relying on 1-2 folks each, which is where we currently are.

I would propose myself to run this DAO, not because other people are not capable but because I am the most invested time wise into this project and am already knee deep in many business relationships as well as working on content creation with 3rd parties and have a good relationship with many folks in the space, as well as a deep understanding of what the role requires not only in terms of the job, but also the day to day expectations of cryptocurrency communities. And I obviously will not be quitting regardless of what happens with this project in the short term…

I would propose this to be the new block % split:
Core Dev: 10%
Web Dev + Tech Support: 10%
General: 10%
Community Budget: Remains 15%
Miners: 55%

I would also propose that this DAO is required to split in half within 6 months as to not grow too large, which reduces our decentralization score as we scale. The suggested block height for this to occur is: 200,000.

I welcome all feedback for this proposal but the purpose is to refocus us as a team as we can all admit that has been a weak point as a community overall lately with this market, while it’s understandable, we need to move forward and keep building if we intend on providing multiple competitive platforms for the world to use.

This proposal would not affect multi sig holders/keys, they would remain the same.Unless they would like to be replaced separately.

I do. I stand behind this. It’s the time to get stuff done and be presented with clear goals instead of expanding/shifting activities.

I am not against this proposal. The only thing that I am against is the naming of the DAO. ‘General’ seems a bit vague. I’d rather call it Marketing & Business Development DAO. Which would make it easier in the future to seperate this DAO into two DAO’s when needed.

I agree with Lex. We should strive to make each DAO have a clear objective and accountability. General is way too vague.
If there are subgroups within a group they should be stated as well as the allocation of funds to each.

Can split the DAO internally I could care less I think the goal is to keep everyone on the same page and not off all working on understaffed teams with extra busy work.

Not to mention the funding is a mess when split so thin currently.

And I don’t think the standard of simply stepping down and replacing someone with a suggested person should necessarily be the way things work compared to people coming up with a plan and stepping forward to manage and accomplish things in a sensible way, otherwise it simply turns into whomever has the most friends.

But yea fine with splitting costs for purposes within the team, and I think it will be much easier to focus on goals when there’s not 3 teams focusing on 3 different sets goals, instead this way there is less to be distractions and more things to tackle as obvious needs.

I don’t see an issue with size reduction in a market like this, its logical seeing as the way things are going in the market and we’ll expand right back up as soon as we can but in the near term we simply need to accomplish goals and I think the best way to accomplish that is to work as a single team until we have enough people to justify multiple teams as marketing & business development go hand in hand in crypto anyways…

Not to mention adding more funds to the Web Dev DAO may give us more room to grow devault.online and other important projects we need, its not simply about merging business and marketing, it’s simply that business team was basically about to become 1 person actually working, so why is it a DAO?

And honestly I’ve been doing business development for this coin for almost a year now as well, just don’t really need a title for it, so I have a pretty solid idea of whats needed right now and how to make short term accomplishments as well as plan for a better market without sacrificing our dignity by using otherwise lousy tactics as we’ve seen in this space such as paying every single exchange you can in order to pump your volume or what have you.
